Intrastate Carriers

Intrastate (California only) carriers are required to have the following:


California Authority CA number: This is an identification number issued by the California Highway Patrol.

Motor Carrier Permit: This permit is required to pick up and deliver loads within California.
Employer Pull Notice Program (Requester Code): Any company that employs drivers is also required to have an Employer Pull Notice Program. This program keeps trucking company management apprised of the driving records of all drivers.

2290: The IRS Form 2290 is the Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax. This tax is paid for all trucks registered at 55,000 pounds or more that operate on public roads. Your stamped receipt from the IRS is required before registering your truck.
